About Us

Our Mission

Living in Anchorage, we know that our seasons are a force of nature. But for our neighbors living on fixed incomes—specifically low-income seniors, individuals with disabilities, and low-income disabled veterans—a heavy snowfall isn't just an inconvenience; it is a barrier to survival.

When driveways and walkways ice over, paying out-of-pocket for a plow service often simply isn't an option. As a result, emergency medical services can't reach the front door, and residents are trapped inside. The Neighborhood Uplift Project was built to solve this exact problem. We remove the physical and financial burdens of home upkeep so our neighbors can live with safety, dignity, and homeowner pride.

How We Work

We believe in guaranteed reliability. Instead of relying on a rotating roster of weekend volunteers, we operate as a grant-funding entity. We use our funding to hire local, licensed, and insured commercial contractors to perform winter snow clearance and summer groundskeeping at absolutely no cost to the homeowner. This ensures that the job is done professionally, local businesses get supported, and our neighbors never have to wonder if they can afford to have their path cleared.

Meet the Founder

The Neighborhood Uplift Project was founded by Bryan Wentz. As a US Army Veteran, Bryan understands that community safety starts right at the front door. He recognized that for seniors on fixed incomes, low-income neighbors, and his fellow disabled veterans, keeping up with Anchorage's intense weather is a financial and physical hardship that they shouldn't have to face alone.

Bryan structured the organization to run with precision and accountability. By focusing on grant management and contractor coordination, he designed a system that bridges the gap between those who need help the most and the local professionals equipped to provide it.
